Garden center launches new Kids Series classes; invites adult gardeners to bloom and grow!

Soak in the sunny days with the assortment of classes and events offered at Pike Nurseries this season! While flowers are blooming and patios are popping, summer is also the season to learn about the critters that keep gardens lively and fun. Families are invited to explore the animals in the garden with the Pike Kids Series, and grown up gardeners can create an enchanting terrarium with wine, light bites and friends. Celebrate the buzzing season with the experts at Pike and plant the seeds for a flourishing summer!

Pike Kids Series
June 7, 14 and 21 at select Pike Nurseries locations
Beat the summertime slump with this free three-part series that will keep kids engaged as they learn about the benefits of our buzzing friends. Little ones will get the opportunity to interact with worms, butterflies and birds to discover how they keep our gardens healthy. These classes are the perfect summer enrichment activity for scouts, homeschoolers and any child with a budding green thumb who is accompanied by an adult. Worms
Wednesday, June 7 at 10 a.m.
FREE!

Get hands-on with these wiggly critters and uncover how they keep our soil healthy and our gardens hearty! While kids often squirm at slimy worms, this class will teach them to see worms for what they truly are: some of nature’s most beneficial helpers.

Butterflies
Wednesday, June 14 at 10 a.m.
FREE!

Learn how these fluttering insects can execute the ultimate transformation from crawly caterpillar to beautiful butterfly and discover how to attract them to the garden at home.  Kids participating in this class will also get the opportunity to create their very own butterfly feeder to take home!

Birds
Wednesday, June 21 at 10 a.m.
FREE!

In this interactive class, the Pike Nurseries professionals will explain the important role that gardens provide as an oasis for birds to breeze in and out for food. In return, these chirping friends help plants grow! Kids who attend this class will get the chance to plant and take home a sunflower to attract birds to their own backyard!

Attracting Butterflies and Hummingbirds
June 13 – 15 at 6:30 p.m. and June 17 at 9 a.m. at select Pike Nurseries locations

DIY Night: Trendy Terrarium
Thursday, June 22 at 6:30 p.m. at select Pike Nurseries store locations
$50 per class

Pike Nurseries offers a fun and relaxing night for guests to create their own stylish terrarium while socializing with friends. In this hands-on workshop, participants are invited to design a charming mini-garden while enjoying wine and light bites.
