Pike Nurseries celebrates the New Year with FREE gardening classes
Local garden center invites customers to welcome 2017 with houseplants and birding
The New Year is almost here! To help green-thumb gurus make the most of their home and garden during 2017, the experts at Pike Nurseries are taking the guesswork out of gardening by hosting FREE classes this January. Attendees will receive complimentary light refreshments, a themed take home item and be entered to win a special grand prize at each class.
Houseplants for the Home Class
After weeks of holiday festivities, it’s time to refresh homes with houseplants that bring much needed color during the bare winter months and provide health benefits to all. During this FREE class, horticulturist Melodie McDanal will teach customers how to select the right houseplants, arrange them for attractive displays and give fresh care tips to ensure they last well into the winter. Additionally, class attendees will receive a 4-inch houseplant to take home and be entered-to-win a $50 specimen houseplant.

- Wednesday, January 4 at 6 p.m. – West Cobb store location
- Thursday, January 5 at 6 p.m. – Peachtree City store location
- Saturday, January 7 at 9 a.m. – Lindbergh store location
Attract Birds to the Backyard Class
Winter is the perfect time to welcome a colorful flurry of feathered friends! During this FREE class, taught by certified plant professional Mickey Gazaway, guests will learn the essentials needed to attract birds, what type of bird food is best for certain species and how to create an inviting habitat for them during the crucial winter months. All class attendees will receive a 5-pound bag of Pike Nurseries Special Mix Bird Seed and be entered to win a $50 bird house.
