Pike Kids Series
Wednesdays in June at 10 a.m. at select Pike Nurseries locations
In this four-part summer series of interactive classes, kids will engage their brains and learn about the critters that are important to our gardens. Complimentary light refreshments will be served. Kids series classes are open to all ages; children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Capacity is limited to 25 people per class. Participants are required to pre-register at pikenursery.com.
- June 6: Birds
Birds have a symbiotic relationship with gardens, meaning each benefits each other. Kids can learn how outdoor spaces at home provide food and homes for birds -- as well as how birds help gardens flourish. Little ones can also learn how to plant a sunflower to add to their own gardens at home!
- June 13: Worms
Little attendees have the chance to play in the dirt with wiggly worms to see why they’re beneficial to soil and aid in the growth of plants.
- June 20: Seeds
Budding green thumbs can explore the variations of seeds that turn into flowering plants, towering trees and delicious fruits and vegetables.
- June 27: Butterflies and Ladybugs
Butterflies and ladybugs both serve as beneficial bugs in the garden. Kids can learn how the insects help plants grow and make a butterfly feeder to hang in green spaces at home.
